Young Agro-Green Africa Network has impacted on skilling the youth in Kasese in order reduce the high rate of unemployment.
Over 30 Youth yesterday were empowered with Entrepreneurial Skills by Young Agro-Green Africa Network (YAGANET) in Kasese Municipality
Mr. Baluku Isaaya, the Executive Director of YAGANET told our reporter shortly successful one day training which was held at their offices in Kasese Municipality that they have a target of empowering more than 1200 youth in Kasese District to enable them contribute to the development of their areas of jurisdictions.
Mr. Isaaya explains that beneficiaries are offered these skills at free cost most especially in making craft shoes, bags, belts, and other leather goods.
Doctor Petra Blumenroth from Germany who came for a vacation in Uganda commended YAGANET for its collaboration and commitment towards improving livelihood of youth in Kasese both in still in school and dropouts.
She added that skilling the youth is universal concern which leaders hope will reduce the rate of unemployment and help in improving economic standards of both their countries and individuals.
She emphasized that skills mostly help individuals drive productivity, competitiveness, and efficiency, making them indispensable in the job market and entrepreneurial ventures.
Lucia Jolly , one of the enthusiastic participants and a student at African ark College of Management Sciences expressed their gratitude to YAGANET for providing these hands-on skills free of charge. She believes that these newfound abilities will pave the way for them to earn a sustainable living in their respective fields in the near future.
