Residents of Nyabugando and Kabuyiri Wards in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council, Kasese District, have reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate with the government in the fight against ADF rebels.
These resolutions were shared during security community meetings held in their areas, where they pledged their support to the Uganda Peoples Defense Forces (UPDF) in the efforts to combat suspected ADF rebels who have been causing terror in the country.
Mr. Obed Kalisya, the Chairperson of Local Council II for Kabuyiri Ward, made this announcement during a community meeting organized by the Office of the Resident District Commissioner. He emphasized that the local residents are ready to collaborate with the government to eliminate all ADF activities in their region. However, he requested that top leaders limit nighttime activities such as music concerts, bars, and gatherings to allow security forces to maintain control.

Mr. Sostine Bwambale, the Chairperson of Local Council II for Nyabungando Ward, reported that during their recent meeting, at least 15 people from his ward were selected to undergo basic security training to support UPDF activities in the area.

Responding to the residents, Lt. Maate Magwara, the Kasese Deputy Residents District Commissioner in Charge of Bukonzo County, addressed the residents of Kabuyiri Ward. He informed them that UPDF is diligently working to eliminate ADF rebels.

Lt. Magwara encouraged locals to report any security threats to the authorities and to refrain from collaborating with ADF rebels.
