Public Cautioned against Over Spending, Alcoholism Sexuality & Abortion During Festival & Holidays


Residents in Kasese district have been warned not over spend money on luxurious items and service a head of the festival days and gaud their children from sexuality and drug abuse.

Kato Ronald, the Director Kasese Youth Link for Development told our reporter and explains that most people over spend during the festival days which he termed as poor planning but to empress the habit of saving.

He challenges the public against excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs because it weakens ones immunity but rather focus their money for developmental activities like school fees, and other family needs.


Biira Michealine a student at Bwera Secondary School and a resident of Nyakiyumbu Sub County advises school going children to help their parents in domestic activities and desist from being involved in bad peer groups.


Gloria Tumusime a Primary Seven Leaver from Kanyughunya Village in Kisinga Sub County Bukonzo East tip boys and girls to desist from sex intercourse at early ages because it exposes them on the risk of early marriages diseases like HIV.


Meanwhile Neriko Kule, the Chairperson Local Council one for Kathero Cell in Mpondwe Lhubiriha Town Council warns the women against abortion because its un Godly and against laws. His advice comes after several suspected cases of abortion in his area.


Mr. Kato had earlier asked married women not to request for expensive items from husbands and safe guard their children from domestic violence which may break due to irresponsible celebrations.
