Kasese Restoration Centre Celebrates Abilities: Charity Fashion Show Showcases Talents of PWDs

Kasese Restoration Center held the second edition of the Zawadi Tunu charity fashion show over the weekend, with the aim of providing children with disabilities a platform to showcase their talents.

Agnes Musoke, the Director of Kasese Restoration, expressed that the fashion show's purpose was to demonstrate to the public that children with disabilities can excel in the arts and entertain the world. The event took place at Vienna Hotel in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council.

In addition to highlighting the talents of children with disabilities, the fashion show sought to educate the public on how to treat people with disabilities. Ms. Agnes emphasized the importance of not discriminating against persons with disabilities and encouraged the public to offer them opportunities to participate in various programs and activities.

Echai Moses, a volunteer at Kasese Restoration Center, echoed this sentiment by urging the public not to discriminate against people with disabilities and to recognize their abilities, which could help them earn a livelihood. He emphasized that individuals with disabilities have the potential to contribute to the development of Uganda, ensuring that no one is left behind.

Matthew, one of the participants and a parent, expressed his gratitude to Kasese Restoration Center for being the first of its kind to promote the talents and potential of people with disabilities. He also encouraged fellow individuals with disabilities to be thankful for their blessings.

Ms. Agnes had earlier emphasized the importance of ensuring the education of persons with disabilities. This event not only showcased the artistic talents of children with disabilities but also served as a reminder of the need for inclusivity and equal opportunities for all members of society.
