Leaders, residents and pupils of Nyakiyumbu Sub County have appreciated community empowerment for rural development (CEFORD) and its partners for contributions towards enhancing education, health and food security in the area.
Child education project started in October 2020 and it will end in October 2023 and it is operating in six primary schools which include Muhindi, Nyamighera, St. Joseph Musyenene, St. Paul Musyenene and Musyenene Baptist
Leaders expressed their thanks today morning during monitoring visit of donors at Musyenene Primary and Mundongo Primary Schools in Nyakiyumbu Sub County where Ismail Twaha the educational zonal leader, Nzirambi Joshu PTA Chairperson for Mundongo Primary School and Uzira Muhindo the Head Teacher Musyenene Baptist Primary School appreciated (CEFORD) and its partners for supporting education in the area.
These leaders indicated that (CEFORD) and its partners for example Rain Forest Alliance are supporting a number of programs in schools like formation of clubs in schools, encouraging parents who to make kitchen gardens and sensitizing the public about the use of education.
Some of the pupils from commended the good work that has been done most especially by training girls how to make reusable sanitary pads and funding remedial classes which has led to improved performance of both slow and quick learners.
Asipe Jean Isabell the Executive Director for community empowerment for rural development (CEFORD) narrated that the project was intended in coffee growing areas where farmers are encouraged to use crop to enhance education in their areas of jurisdiction.
Mr. Siriru Muhindo the LC III Vice Chairperson for Nyakiyumbu Sub County pledged his commitment towards encouraging residents and beneficiaries to ensure sustainability of the project.
During the project it’s believed that over 1200 pupils both boys and girls have been trained how to make reusable sanitary pads since most parents fail to raise money pads of girls.
