Kasese District Leaders Commended Government's Services

Kasese District Leaders Commended Government's Services on Uganda's 61st National Independence Day

As Uganda celebrated its 61st National Independence Day, leaders in Kasese District express their appreciation for the government's efforts in serving the public.

Uganda gained independence in 1962 following the Uganda Constitutional Conference held in London.

Several leaders, including Lt. Maate Magwara, Kasese Deputy RDC in charge of Bukonzo County, shared their thoughts with our reporter, highlighting the positive impact of various government regimes in providing essential services to Ugandan citizens.

Lt. Magwara acknowledged the significant developments in sectors such as education, health, infrastructure, and socioeconomic transformation, particularly under the NRM regime, which has governed Uganda for approximately 40 years.

Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Member of Parliament for Kasese Municipality, expressed gratitude to the government for its role in maintaining peace, unity, and security in the country.

He also celebrated the release of Omusinga by noting that the Rwenzururu Kingdom joyfully celebrated the day with their king.

However, Alfred Ikwera, the Kasese FDC General Secretary, pointed out that a gap still exists between leaders and locals, with concerns about limited freedom of expression and movement among many citizens.
