Forego other activities to warmly welcome Omusinga-

A section of political leaders mostly from Kasese Municipality have advised the residents to forego other activities to warmly welcome the Omusinga back to his Kingdom.

Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament says because the residents in the urban Centre are the hosts, the need to show love to the King for the rest of the people to emulate.

He also asks the entire subjects to celebrate the event for the homecoming of the King peacefully.

Mr. Douglas Yofesi Saturday Madaraka, the Director for Madaraka Cares, a Kasese based Civil Society Organization, says he is happy with the ruling NRM government for setting the Omusinga free despite the seven years he has spent out of his Kingdom following a number of charges he was slapped with after a raid by security on his Buhikira Royal Palace in Kasese town.

Madaraka subsequently contributed UGX 5 million to support the activities of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu including the homecoming of the King, coronation ceremony and procuring Springs International Hotel.

The money was delivered to the Organizing Committee by the Spokesperson for Madaraka Cares, Geoffrey Bwambale Kisaka who asked the subjects to always be supportive to the Kingdom’s activities.

Speaking on behalf of the secretariat for the homecoming of the Kin, Mr. Godfrey Kule Kiwede acknowledged receipt of the money and appealed to the rest of the people to continue support the activities of the cultural institution even after the return of the King.
